The 1955 edition of the Le Moyne baseball squad was one which did not meet with a great deal of success but showed signs of future promise. Composed mainly of Sophomores and Freshmen, the squad found it quite difficult to match their more experienced rivals. Playing a ten game schedule, the Nilandmen were able to notch only one victory while being defeated in the remaining nine. The lone victory was scored over Griffis Air Force Base when the Dolphins eked out a 4-3 victory. Dick Chase was the winning pitcher and Bob Dietz provided the batting strength in the win. Individually, the Green and Gold could boast of some fine performers. Bob Dietz batted well above the .300 mark and led the team in runs batted in. Dick Busching was also at the .300 mark and showed much talent afield. Behind the plate, Bob Hollemback was a mainstay and showed great promise. His fielding abilities were noteworthy as were those of infielders jim O'Halloran and Mike Pallotta.
