Once again the Chaumonot Forum put in an active forensic year. Built around veterans from last year and augmented by a group of promising Freshmen, both the debate and discussion groups exchanged views with students from all over the country. As far North as Vermont and as far East as Boston could be heard Chaumonot's views on the national topic, the Guaranteed Animal Wage. Under the able leadership of Delores Grabowski, Chaumonot's president, the debaters scored impressive wins at Hamilton, Geneseo, Vermont, and Boston. At the St. john Fisher Tournament in Rochester the group walked off with the first place trophy, thereby proving themselves to be a power among the debaters in the central New York area. The local group was also active in arranging its own tournaments. Debate forums in the area were invited to the Annual Le Moyne Tournament in April, and the Annual Prize Debate offered Le Moyne students a chance to compete among themselves. ' Much of Chaumonot's success is owed to its moderator, Father Carmody, whose patience and coaching gave the members a sound forensic foundation. The Forum as a whole should also be congratulated, not only in so far as forensic activities go, but also for the wholehearted cooperation of the individual members and their extraordinary club spirit. The united effort of the group made possible the success of both their annual dance, which was one of the highlights of the fall social season, and the annual banquet in May, which officially climaxed the year's activities.
