'TBI Boot and Buskln 41 Q-ua Once again immortal Caesar lay bleeding at the foot of Pompey's statue and, while the terrified crowd looked on in horror, the men of Rome proclaimed their glorious deed. XVith the re-enactment of this assas- sination scene the Boot and Buskin Dramatic Guild fulfilled again the prophecy of the treacherous Cassius and, with realism and finesse, presented Shakespeares jnlinr Cfzemr. However, this was not the first produc- tion of the Guilds 55-56 season The Auction, a one act prize winning play was presented at the State Fair, and a Eugene McCarthy original, XYfomen Never Do, sparked the entertainment program for the Freshmen during Orientation Week. Also, as is its policy, the Boot and Buskin gave its new and promising members a chance The Cast of Julius Caesar .1 4 f . Y i . - V ix- . 1 If 3 Mr. McCarthy-Director 1495. 1- ,,. 41--1' Fr. Messemer-Moderator L, to get into the swing of things by participat- ing in the Matinee Theater. A Christmas play was also staged and several one act dramas were presented during the second semester. The annual jesuit Drama Festival was held in February in Jersey City. This festival gave the group an excellent opportunity to get the feeling of being on the road and to learn how to cope with unforeseen dif- ficulties of production. Though long hours of tedious rehearsal and scenery work go into the making of a good show, an extraordinary club spirit and a genuine interest in the work make the time spent seem negligiable to the Boot and Buskin members. Numerous parties and a formal banquet in May balance the hard work and round out the activities for the year. l Ci f- PN ' 1 Y 5. i Y 3 v 1 O. it l--f l 'v -f fl X l ... . :lf-l - -Leu, , -1:-1 HT V , .ri Casting the Show Early Rehearsals ..............
