JUNIORS Class president Robert Slover . . . long, mll, Jby Out of the Limelight . . . O As graduation time rolls around, the eyes of the nation focus upon the graduating seniors of every high school. People are only dimly aware of the fact that there is a junior class ready to take over the next year. Meanwhile. lurking in the background. a lively junior class eagerly awaits the time they can hold the reins of the high school. Out of the limelight but always on the go, the junior class of Lawton high school is recognized as a Composed of members who are tops in class of toppers. dramatics. tops in sports, tops in scholarship, tops in music, and tops in student government, the juniors are building toward a senior year that will top all tops. Headed by tennis player and basketballer Robert Slover in their junior year, the class last year elected scholarly Mary Evelyn Smith sophomore president, the first girl to hold class presidential office in the history of the school. On their toes since their entry in high school. the juniors in their sophomore year inaugurated the annual sophomore class picnic, presented a rafter- raising class program. contributed members to the all- school play The Bishop Ilvlisbehaves.
