This year, the Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Schaefer, presented many enjoyable programs. The event which required the most preparation was the Christmas Program on December 18. The elementary music classes also participated in the program. The most popular song presented at this event, at least among the Choir members, was Do You Hear What I Hear by the composer that wrote Little Drummer Boy. The Choir also sang for Thanksgiving and Good Friday Assemblies, at the Art Show, and at Bacca- laureate. Several small groups were formed within the Choir throughout the year- -one of these groups won a prize in the Talent Show; another sang at Commencement. Alto- gether, the Choir had a very successful year and provided a great deal of enjoyment for the Student Body.

JUNIOR BAND ™ iS SHH Wtmr-M - f4|;l, 1 r : -1 FIRST ROW: Anna DeFouw, Susan Shirkey, Harry Wagner, Allen Britt, Judy Bowlby, Steve Weurding, Connie Harrison, Linda Secor. SECOND ROW: Jim Hays, Keith Brown, Clark Streeter, Director, Mr. Hill, Pam Prehn, Mary Ellen Hammel, Helen Prindle. The Junior Band, though a small group, plays very well. They have participated in a number of events this year. Among the events were: marching, playing, and assisting the Senior Band at home football games, the Midwinter Concert, the Solo k Ensemble Contest, and a Spring Concert. Due perhaps to the small size of the Band, it is possible tor the band director, Mr. Hill, to give each Bandsman a lot of individual attention. The students all feel that they learn a great deal under this system, and we agree--the Junior Band sounds better and better as the weeks go by, and we feel that all its members will become integral parts of the Senior Band. Senior Band members proudly model their new nnarching uniforms, which, along with help from the Band Boosters and the School Board, they helped to earn by various money- raising projects. Their old uniforms were passed along to the Junior Band, which you can see above. The models are, left to right: Pat Pfister, Joan Harrison, Shauna Adams, Mardelle Brown, Gene Gess, and Pat Miller.
