DEDICATION The 1963 edition of the Reflector is respectfully dedicated to Mrs. Mary Staley Bro ' wn, who this year retires after twenty-three years of service in the Lawton School system. Most of us think of Mrs. Brown as an English and Latin teacher only. However, earlier she taught gym, history, geography, and junior high classes wherever she was needed. As the school system grew and more teachers were hired, Mrs. Brown took additional train- ing to qualify herself as our school librarian. She has willingly spent hours selecting and cataloging enjoyable and helpful books for our use until now Lawton High School has one of the best libraries in the area. This past year, Mrs. Brown has set up and maintained an efficient library fro the elementary students in the new building. Mrs. Brown has also kept herself busy with extracurricular activities. This year she organized the Dramatics Club, which under her direction, entertained the student body with two one-act plays. Over the years, she has been class advisor to many classes, and through directing plays and chaperoning activities such as dances and proms, she has given the students an opportunity to become well acquainted with her as a person, as well as a classroom teacher. Last year Mrs. Brown ' s years of devoted service were acknowledged when our newly- formed Honor Society named its local chapter in her honor. The Reflector Staff proudly adds to that recognition the tribute of this dedication.
