SENIOR TRIP WE ' RE OFF ! MONEY TO BURN! FIRST STOP! Bright and early Friday morning on June 24, the Senior Class climbed on a bus and left for a long day in Chicago. The first stop was the Glass House where we changed and ate breakfast. After riding hobby horses and buying lollipops, we re- entered our bus and drove down busy Calumet Expressway to O ' Hare Airport. While at O ' Hare, we were fortunate to have a guided tour arranged by Mr. Ray Wanink through a big Boeing Jetliner. From the observation deck we watched the planes land and take-off. When we finally left O ' Hare, everyone had illusions of be- coming either pilots or stewardesses. After eating lunch at Howard Johnson ' s, we visited Maxwell Street and then drove to the Loop and rented a room in the Harrison Hotel. Almost everyone spent his free time on State Street. At 6:30 we met back at the hotel to change clothes for a boat trip on Leike Michigan. When we came back damp and sea-sick, our spirits were low but were soon returned at the prospect of a trip on the subway to Riverview Amusement Park. We returned to the hotel by 1:00 A.M. tired but happy and once more got on the bus for the return trip home. Lawton never looked better to thirty-one seniors than it did when we finally arrived home at 4:30 Saturday morning. WATCH THOSE PLANES TAKE OFF ! IT ' S BEEN A LONG HARD DAY ! HOME AT LAST!
