f 1906 It is always sad to mark the passing of a good and so it is with deep regret that we, the class of 1955, write these words. For almost half a century the Lawrenceville High School has been the hub of the educational, athletic, and entertainment circles of the community. From its halls have gone forth thousands of alumni who, we believe, whether achieving material success or mediocrity, happiness or tra- gedy, have found imbedded deep within their hearts the principles for which the school stands -- attributes for fuller living, spiritual, mental, and physical. For twenty-five years, for more than half its life, with innate gentlemanliness, keen intelligence, ready wit, and patient under- standing, an alumnus, our principal, has maintained the standards of the school. The Senior Class with grateful appreciation and loving respect dedicate their volume of the Sentinel to their Alma Mater, the Law- renceville High School and to their friend, Robert Jefferson Jones. 1955

In this Sentinel is the story of one of our happy years spent at L.H.S. As you slowly turn through this book, many cherished memories of ball games, club activities, class parties, Junior-Senior Proms and other activities will be recalled. May we always remember these things, and especially our teachers who have so patiently stood beside us everyday of the year. We appreciate their efforts very much. We, the staff, present this book to you in hopes that it will bring much Joy to you in years to come.
