SENIORS Dorothy Ann Wi I lioms - Library Club; F.H.A. 2. Dorothy seems so very re- served but just let a joke pop out and we see a quick smile and hear laugh- ter. Thomas Milton Wright - F.F. A. 2,3,4. A little lazy, except when it comes to talking. Milton is small in size but big in friendliness. OUR HISTORY Was it really four years ago? It seems only yesterday that we entered the eighth grade. We were, shall we say, foreign to the ways of high school, but we were dazed with the thought of at last really being high school students. Although we were greenhorns dur- ing our Freshman year, we had our share of activities — most memorable are the spring party and the visit to the General Assembly. We also boasted of having so many of our boys participating in athletics. When our Sophomore year rolled around, we had been initiated truly into the ways of high school. We struggled through ancient history, Latin verbs, and algebra equations. During our Junior year we got into the Swing of things in many ways. We held of- fices in various school clubs, had trophy win- ners, and generally prepared ourselves for the position we would hold the following year. The musical strains of Moonlight and Roses will always revive memories of our Junior- Senior Prom — the fun we had pasting stars in the sky, twining roses and ivy in the picket fence, and presenting our own This is Your Life show. Also, for the first time L.H.S. had a band of which the class was very proud since we contributed a number of members. Now at last . . . the arrival of a momen- tous phase in our lives, this our Senior year of 1954-55. It seemed strange to us but we demanded seniority, and we received it. We knew we had reached a milestone when we b egan publishing the Bow-Wow, spending endless yet pleasant hours, working on the Sentinel, and producing Beauty and the Beef in which we certainly strutted our stuff. We outdid ourselves on the field, the court, and the diamond, where we not only learned to play ball; we also learned much about playing the game of life. During four years we have captured an overflowing reservoir of happy memoirs, which will bring us many moments of pleasure in the years to come. With our faces to the future we should keep in mind these fre- quently quoted lines from Shakespeare ' s As You Like It. All the world’s a stage, and all the men and ivomen merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts. The world challenges us to play our part well. 16
