L51 Each year Lawrence presents a varied intramural and inter- fraternity athletic program for those men interested in sports who do not compete in varsity athletics. During the various seasons of the year a wide range of sports is offered on both a team and individual basis, under the direction of the student intramural manager, this year Bob Meyer. ln addition to an extensive inter- fraternity program, a series of all college events afford an oppor- tunity for participation to any man in the college. The Institute of Paper Chemistry also competes in various phases of the pro- gram. The fraternities compete for the Supremacy Cup, an award given each year to the fraternity compiling the greatest number of points in competition in the various sports throughout the year. This year under the direction of Bob Negronida, the L Club played a little-known but active part in campus activities. As usual, the clubs program was built around a variety of projects in conjunction with the athletic department and the SEC new student week committee. Activities varied from the distribution of freshmen beanies to the handling of the concession stands at the home athletic contests, Until recent years the concessions were run by persons outside the college, but the lettermen now have the franchise and the funds raised from this and other projects are utilized in improving the athletic facilities at Lawrence and providing nnancial opportunities for needy students. In the past few years the L Club has made several substantial dona- tions to the campus. The basketball scoreboard and the public address system at Alexander Gymnasium are the most recent contributions. page H7 HL CLUB
