Back Row: Crawford, Vice President. Barber, President. Front Row: Bayer, Recorder, Timmerman, Intermural Manager. The Womens Recreation Association provides a varied and active sports program for Lawrence women. It sponsors activities in which they may develop new interests and skills, participate in their favorite team and individual sports, make new friends and just enjoy themselves. The Intramural sports program is W.R.A.'s most important activity. The team sports are hockey, volleyball, basketball, softball, and mixed aerial darts, Individual sports such as golf, tennis, swimming, badminton, bowling, and table tennis are also offered. The sports managers arrange for both interclass and intersorority competition in the sports. W.R.A. also sponsors special events. Between semesters they invite the entire school to Winter Weekend to ski, skate, toboggan and participate in other winter sports, Sororities compete in the annual Folk Dance Festival, presenting native folk dances from around the world. The vear's activities are concluded with the WRA. banquet in the spring where awards are presented to deserving teams and individuals and the board.
