DEAN CHARLGTTE WOLLAEGER Miss Wollaeger, pacifying influence at the Sig Ep house, says that she is mostly inter- ested in people and rightly so as can be seen by her job as Dean of Women. She is very fond and proud of her classical record collection which is growing by leaps and bounds. Driving tractors, too, is a rare hobby, but she delights in this as well as farming on a large scale. She formerly taught speech at Shorewood l-ligh School, and is still vitally interested in the theater. l-ler unofficial title is that of the best- dressed woman on-campus, and her radiant personality and little suppers are well- lcnown on campus. DEAN MARSHALL HULBERT lV'lr. l-lulbert became assistant dean last year besides assuming his new role as a psy- chology professor after a glorious career at the conservatory. We still enjoy, how- ever, his yearly performances in the Mes- siah and with the a cappella. l-le has been vitally interested in travel since he got the first Lawrence tour to Europe underway in 1926 as business manager. l-lis spare time last summer was talcen up with a very large and flourishing Victory garden, and his interests have developed further into a col- lection of old and rare maps, several of which adorn the walls of his office. ,ig .fn , K. ., . X - DEAN DONALD DUSHANE Mr. DuShane, Donald Duck, as he is more familiarly known to all Lawrentians, has had variedoccupational experiences, which have ranged from selling glassware and china, and being a rental agent lor apartment buildings, to working on a newspaper. l le formerly taught government at Columbia College, New York, and says that his main interest is teaching. Now, however, his duties have extended beyond government to include those ol the Dean ol Men. It is he whom we see when we want to knock otl for a few days, or to whom we give all those alibis when we have had triple cuts in that particular class. DEAN PAUL RUSSELL ANDERSON Mr. Anderson, once lull-time interpreter of Plato and Aristotle, now concentrates his time and energies into being a friendly, efficient Dean of the College. l-le's the man behind the pipe to whom you are quite likely to shout, l-li. l-le thinks tennis is a grand sport, and in leisurely moments he enjoys a thoughtful game ol chess. ln addi- tion he has been known to paint houses. A visitor to his home is struck with the way in which it reflects his travels in the Qrient. Lawrence has, he maintains, a friendly and democratic spirit and has made an excellent attempt at balanced living. l l l A Y R Page 8
