Foreword The college is now in its twenty-sixth year and during this period has provided a needed educational facility which was dedicated to the education of engineers and scientists. Looking back, we have much to be proud ofg several thousand graduate engineers and countless others who have had terminal courses, and have received their education Without high tuition or excessive fees. Now, at the beginning of the Space Age We have a stimulating challenge to fulfillg the ever increasing need for trained engineers and scientists. Through the past years, you, the graduating class of 1958 have gathered in the halls and classrooms in preparation for the educational accolade awarded in a graduation. Now much of the future lies in your hands. To you have been given the tasks of tomorroW's achievements. 5

Dedication: Twenty-three years of faithful and sincere service to Lawrence Insti- tute of Technology ended on January 2, 1958 with the untimely death of Doctor Gail P. Brewington. Because of his help and encouragement, the students of Lawrence Tech will remember Doc Brewington as a man who established a firm foundation in science and instilled a joy in its attainment. His untiring efforts for the advancement of the teaching of science resulted in curriculum changes patterned to meet present day engineering problemsg this same enterprising spirit resulted in one of the finest intro- ductory physics laboratories in the state. His presence among us will always be feltg and with deepest respect we dedicate the 1958 L-Book to Doctor Gail P. Brewington. 7
