FROSH I +lTIATIOI To the new freshmen en- tering college, the day is filled with golden oppor- tunities. The opportunity of attending classes and gain- ing knowledge that he never knew existed. A large part of going to college is the attitude that the new student has to- wards the activities which are provided for him by- the more initiated students of Lawrence Tech. Once each year the Sophomore class members provide the Freshmen with a chance to be of service to every student in the col- lege. During Freshmen Ini- tiation Week, or better known as hell week , the freshie is directed to do certain acts which must measure up to the require- ments of the upper class- men. It the frosh takes the at- titude of not caring he is sure to end up as one of those students who carries with him only a degree in his respective engineering major. But if the new stu- dent can take the exper- iences of initiation and pledging a fraternity with a sense of humor he has gained much in the knowl- edge of getting along with his 'Fellow men. ln any event there is more to going to college than attending classes and religiously doing home- work. A large part of go- ing to college is getting a well rounded education in human nature. Of course all this extra- curricular fun is taken in good stead and usually turns out for the best if not slightly well worn.
