RICHARD RILEY The Student Council The Student Council is composed of the president, elected by the student body, and representatives from each homeroom. The meetings are held on Thursday during the third period. The councilis committees are: fire, flag, bicycle, traffic and safety, social, building and grounds, service, and assembly. These committees worked with fire drills, traffic patrolmen, the selling of tickets during the basketball season, and collecting for such benefits as Cancer, Red Cross, Community Chest, and March of Dimes. The council worked during the first of the year on a magazine selling project to finance the school publication, The Junior . A Student Directory was prepared by a committee and sold to students. A small profit was made. Committees supervised election for cheerleaders. They planned and Worked with Mr. Heeb in helping to give the all-school Hallowe'en party, and in arranging to have the Community Building for after school and Saturday recreation. -7- THE IUNIOR Second Semester Student Council Top row: Mr. Richard R.
