During your years at Lawrence High School, you have retained your individuality, wrestled with your own problems, and pursued your own goals. And yet, consciously or unconsciously, you have given a part of yourself to your school, and in so doing have gained strength even as you gave it. It is for this very reason that Lawrence High School is more than a building; more than faculty members, courses of study, and students. It is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. For those of us who are a part of it, it has an image, a “personality,” peculiar and unique. This is your contribution and the contribution of many—a unity which results from the diversity of its components. To the Class of 1964, which has continued and strengthened a proud tradition, my congratulations and best wishes for continued success. MR. ARTHUR W. COOMBS Arthur W. Coombs Superintendent of Schools MR. HENRY C. BOSCHERT Keep this yearbook. Through its pages you will Assistant Superintendent of Schools later recapture days which passed too swiftly to be fully savored. The pictures, the names and the text will one day become a tapestry woven of your own memories. For each of you, they will have a special significance within the context of your personal experience. Your teachers, your classmates, the school activities in which you participated — the major events that took place during your senior year, some of them humorous, some thrilling and some, unfortunately, tragic—-are here recorded. It is my hope that these have been rewarding, satisfying years for you; that you will be able to look back upon them with pleasure, and that they will prove only the forerunner of many golden years ahead.
