MR. CECIL II. MAHOOD When the Class of 1948 moves out of Lawrence they will remember Mr. Mahood as more than expert principal and an expert administrator. I hey will remember him as a friend. A friend with a smiling face and a genial hello whom they saw in the halls, in classes, at club meetings, and at athletic contests, who was always willing to lend a hand of assistance and give readily of his store of wisdom to the students. MISS ELSIE R. TEFFT Extraordinarily wise, efficient, and fair-minded is our assistant principal. M iss Telit. Only a person endowed with such attributes could handle so skillfully the myriads of administrative and personal problems which cross her path each day. In spite of the connection between Miss leflt and disciplinary measures. the entire student body holds her in unreserved alTection and respect. I bey give their time unselfishly lo better the educational facilities of our community. ADMINISTRATION MR. LAWRENCE V. DODD Coordinating tbe work of tbe five grammar schools and that of tbe High School is tbe responsibility of Superintendent Lawrence V. Dodd. As a result of Mr. Dodd s efforts. Lawrence offers a highly varied curriculum and now an adult education program. I lis work during bis thirteen years as superintendent of schools has made Lawrence High School a place of which the students, faculty, community, and. we feel sure. Mr. Dodd can be proud. 7

MR. LYMAN W. DAVISON A doctor to all our personal problems is our guidance director. Mr. Davison, lo him we have poured out all our hopes for the future and our problems for today. In matters such as formulating our high school courses of study, choosing a college or a future vacation he has helped us enormously. I lis sympathetic understanding and expert guidance has smoothed our path immeasurably. MRS. EMMA B. HORN As assistant guidance director, Mrs. 1 lom copes with much the same tasks as Mr. Davison. However. she directs her attention mostly towards the problems of the girls. Besides her regular duties, which she dispatches with a willingness to help and with great proficiency, she has also found time to serve as faculty adviser to the School Marshals. The students of Lawrence will not soon forget the ready smile and helpfulness of our Mrs. Horn. 9
