l l Mr. Cecil C. MacDonald Our lgrincilaaf. . . May l have your attention? May I have your attention? lVlr. lVlacDon- ald speakingf, The voice greeting us from the loudspeaker system every morning has come to be just as much a part of our curriculum as our classes. On mornings when the broadcast is late, or not heard at all, something seems dehnitely wrong with the day. ln this same way Mr. MacDonald's friendly presence has always been re- assuring to Lawrencians, even before the broadcasting system. We students have found in him a sincere friend al- ways willing to help untangle any problem with which we cannot cope. Our principal has always thrown him- self whole-heartedly into school ac- tivities and is inevitably present to encourage our teams, congratulating the winners, consoling the losers. Thus he has earned a place in our fond re- membrances of high school days. Our ,fdzmidfanf principaf. . . When we were Freshmen, Miss Telft was, to us, inseparably connected with the little black book, the sym- bol of her position as Assistant Princi- pal and the long arm of discipline. ln four years of high school since then we have come to know her as a lively personality and efficient director, mainly responsible for maintaining our usual calm routine. Besides her other duties, Miss Tefft is also head of the Social Studies Department, and the exceptional sense of fair play she has shown at all times has brought her the respect of all Lawrencians, teachers and students. anal fke jacuky... Notice that beam of pride on Mr. Dodds face? lt illus- trates the feeling that all Lawrencians, from the top down, have for the school. Our Superintendent of Schools has good cause for feeling proud because our rapid progress is due, in a great measure, to his tireless efforts. When the post of Superintendent became vacant in l935, Mr. Dodd, having been a chemistry teacher in the school, knew thoroughly the problems confronting the system and was chosen to nll the vacancy. He has since proved his understanding by institut- ing the much needed Guidance Department, encouraging the music and art departments, and expanding the vocational courses. For his pride in us, weire twice as proud of him.
