ECLIPSE HAIR SALOON 606 Andover St Lawrence, Mass. George Patricia Yameen 129 Dedication On January 28, 1986, the hands of sorrow were wrapped around the world. On this day the space shuttle Challeger burst into flames, killing all seven of its crew, and dulling the human spirits of people throughout the world. A flood of emotion swept our country. Relatively unknowns until the tragedy, the astronauts represented hope. In a society where heroes are few and far between, they were our heroes. They were ordinary people taking an extraordinary risk. They were men and women of various backgrounds, coming together for a common cause-the advancement of human ingenuity. They were all special people who brought together a nation and a world. It is in the memory of Michael Smith, Dick Scobee, Ron McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Greg Jarvis, Judy Resnik, and teacher Christa McAuliffe that we dedicate this yearbook. They did not die in vain, but for the hope and human perseverence they bore into the youth of today will live on. 1 JOSTEN5 fv-: ,1
