2141 Registration. A word formerly dreaded by juniors and seniors, and a word of mystery to sophomores. Now, computers have taken the place of long lines and rushing to get classes. The reason the new computer system was used was to keep from overloading classes. As before, sophomores, juniors, and seniors registered on different days by alphabetical order to cut down on confu- sion. The way the new computer system worked was by code numbers. Each class taught by every teacher was given a dif- ferent number. The computer read the numbers and told the percentage of students already registered for that class. The main computer at the administration building used these code numbers to in- sure that no class was overloaded by the sixteen persons registering the students at the same time. Without too many delays, the new system worked to enroll 2141 students. students register gg 'SXYQNXQEI ' :NGS-i if Registration begins here - a sign points the way to the first step of registration.
