Rod Brock Selected For Mr. Bell High School Rod Brock, a leader as well as a friend. is a deserving choice for Mr. Bell High School. Rod conTribuTed many hours Towards The many acTiviTies he parTicipaTed in aT Bell. He was involved in STu- denT Council, Class Council, where he served as Vice-PresidenT, FooTball, Track, Cross CounTry, Young Life, and NaTional Honor SocieTy. Rod puT a loT of Time inTo NaTional Honor SocieTy as Vice- PresidenT, he was responsible for seTTing up TuToring sessions for all sTudenTs who wanTed help. Rod liked The unique relaTionship ThaT exisTs beTween faculTy and sTudenTs mosT aT Bell. He said ThaT The sTudenTs are encour- aged by The faculTy To rise above The ordinary and To reach for excellence. Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream preceeds a gaol is The moTTo Rod lives by. which helps him To accomplish his goals. Rod proved his abiliTy To be a sTrong leader in VarsiTy Track where he won numerous awards. Some of his honors include his parTicipaTion in Texas Relays in AusTin on The 3200 meTer relay Team, his TirsT place awards in The 3200 meTer aT The SouThwesT Conference Indoor meeT in 1984 and 4985, and his-disTricT cham- pibnship award in The 7-5A 800 meTer run in 498-4.
