Book learnin'. Not much fun, really. But at Bell, the learning experience went beyond readin'. 'ritin', and 'rithmetic. Several classrooms used new hands-on techniques to help students learn. Government classes learned about a 4944 Supreme Court case by enacting a trial, complete with nine Justices, defense and prosecuting attorneys, and witnesses. Presentations and projects were used as tools in history, English, and foreign languages to promote education. With all the strict policy changes, better education was a must, and teachers and students cooperated to reach new heights in academic energy. During the Government trials, heated debates carried on outside of class, as decisions were flnally, painfully, made.
