Registration becomes hectic for these seniors. Registration h the Unveiling of Lawrence D. Bell High School Student Body President, Ronnie Justiss patiently tries to help in the confusion. Where ' s Mr. Rickmers? Students engulf his desk seeking schedule changes . A new year is being formed. The blueprint is uncertain. Events that happen every year will tie together the uniqueness of this one. Unpredictable, time awaits. A season, a semester, a year, undefinable until revealed, lies before us in its raw material. We will build; we will be built. At the finish everything will be changed though nothing will be different. RONNIE ' S MESSAGE One year ago, you gave me a vote of confidence as I said, This is a time for newness and greatness at Bell High School; and, by that statement, I intended to lead our school to a point from which we might say of ourselves- -as Pericles said of the Athenians--, We do not imitate, but are a model to others. In the light of these thoughts you may judge the leadership of the past year as you will. But, for the seniors who embark into a new lifeand the underclassmenwho must take the standard of Raider leadership from them, I should like in retrospect to mention the guidelines which History sets up for the judgement of any man or group of men. First, was he really a man of courage, with courage to hold off his associates, to withstand public pressure, and to deny private lusts? Second, was he really a man of judgement , with judgement enough to view the past and present objectively, to see the omissions of others AND himself, and to know and to admit that which he did not know? Third, was he really a man of integrity, a man who would turn neither on the principles in which he believed nor on the people who believed in him? i P! Lastly, was he really a man of dedication, with an honour ' %iP unblemished, compromised by none, and devoted solely to those who first trusted him? Ronnie Justiss •«. • History is harsh; you should be, also. Yet, remember, as you judge your high school and her leadership, you judge your- self- -a vital part of the whole.
