This year marks the termination of the career of Mr. Walter Davis that began in 1911 in a one room school house. Mr. Davis, beloved industrial arts teacher at LCHS, has served both the school and the com- munity well. To Mr. Davis, who has taught so much to so many, and is now retiring, LC expresses its grat- itude and say, Thanks Teachers are not just people earning a living, they are architects of our future in a land of freedom and opportunity. -Ivey F. Lewis Many though the scholastic and athletic honors that LC students attain may be, it should be realized that without the faculty of Lawrence Central to instruct Centralites, these numerous achievements would be gained. Lawrence Central is indeed fortunate in the respect that its faculty is composed of teachers who are dedicated to teaching. These instructors, sixty in number, are not at LC for the sole purpose of teaching however, for they are also the students' advisors, their club sponsors, and their friends. The knowledge they impart to LC students cannot be measured by a yardstick or scales for their wisdom will linger in the minds and hearts of Centralites as long as memories of friends and school remain, perhaps, forever. One could find them anytimeofthe day busily buried beneath a sea of passes, com- plaints, excuses, and uncount- ablemiscellaneous paper work. Every day they proved to be indispensable as they served as the students' and facuIty's friends as well as assistants. Although theyseldom receive a thank you or even a compli- ment, their assistance is greatly appreciated.
