Margaret bought her house so she could be with him at his work.- Robert Kelly is head engineer of the J. 0. Dithers Construction aided this company so that their construction has Nexpanded to include anything from sidewalks to swinging bridges. , I ' Elsie Long appreciated bookkeeping so much in her senior year W4 . that she has chosen it as her career. She is now employed as account- -, ant for Armour Packing Co. in Oklahoma City. ' Verl Kamp had chosen his occupation before graduating. He was i- , then and still remains a farmer and a married man. Mrs. Dinwiddie, the former Rita Farrell, came by train from her ' husbandis army base in Georgia to attend the reunion. Their four red-haired sons, who have been wisiting their grandparents here, will Ava Kamp never had any idea that when she married Clyde Carlisle she would go on living at Slapout. Clyde is the prosperous barber in this little city and Ava is the tag agent. She went to Memphis for an audition and fell ?' in love and married the radio sponser, so of course she got the job. gg Charles Johnson used to be Harold D.'s coon partner but since - Delores moved in the business just can't support so many. He finally acce ted that offer from the Grey Hound Bus Co. and is driving the route 5 f ple t El id rom Verne o or a. n gg Betty Hudson and Flossie Johnson have given up many chances of marriage to hae careers. They are now private secretaries for Mr. g Rockerfellow and Mr. Ford. Thdir Shorthand ability was an important 1 factor in securing these positions. Viola Hicks is now the owner of Hicks Book Store in Wichita, Kansas Her experiences in the Laverne School Library started her on this career Q! Howard Rolf is the Professor of Psycloogy at the Columb ia Univers- ity. He is scheduled to secceed the famed Dr. Nicholas Archiblad Butler 5 5 2 5 5 sf the Third, as president of the University. Miss Polly Dinwiddie is now supervisor of the Dallas, Texas branch of the Bell Telephone Co. Polly has worked up to this position from a janitor with this company. David Disney, owner and operator 6f the 'Laverne Square-Deal Junk Yardn. has greatly advanced since his high school days. He tried al- most every kind of occupation and just five years ago succeeded in finding the work which could make him happy. From the hills of Idaho, Wayne Winfough wandered down. He is head manager of the famed 'Hopalong Cassidy Dude Ranchn. He has been Hoppy's right hand man for several years now. Richard Anderson is manager of the government agricultural experi- ment station here at Laverne. Besides these many duties he also oper- ates his own ranch. Ramona Merett and Delvin Jett Inca arrived at the reunion walking hand in hand with their energetic twins between them. This happy couple was married after their long courtship in high school the fall following their graduation. ' H.R. Hart has taken over his father-in-law's job at the Booster Station. He had always wanted this job and the surest way to get it was to marry Mary Lea. Norma Fuller is stenographer for the office at the Kansas City Stockyards. She hasn't decided whether to marry Raymond Clyborn yet or not, but he has about persuaded her as he comes up every weekend with a truck load of cattle. I was very much surprised to hear that our sponser Ivan Marteney had retired from teaching and coaching and is now settled down raising hound dogs. K Mr. Woodrull Stopped long enough in Laverne for our reunion. He is making a personal appearance tour of the U.S. with his famous trick- horse, 'Jughead'. all 'Wa h.. Wm 'Win 'Wm Nh, lla 'lh.. 'llu.
