THE PURPOSE OF THE BOYS' AND GIRLS' GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND The Boys' Monogram Club, one of our hardest working organizations, offers fun and fellowship to its members. No other club in Laurinburg High School has done so much for the school and community as has the Boy's Monogram Club. The club presented an alumni basketball game and sock-hop, with all profits going to CARE. They also sponsored a chicken-plate dinner in order that boys who didn't have the money could go to football camp. However, the main function of the Boys' Monogram Club is to promote athletic competition and good sportsmanship in Laurinburg High School. They have done this in the past and will continue to do it as long as athletics remain at Laurinburg High School. The Boys Monogram Club officers include Graham S The Monogram boys enjoy their new club room. King, Jim Richardson, and Denny Staples. 86

Members of the Girls' Monogram Club must have earned a letter as a basketball player, as a cheerleader, or as a manager. Members must undergo spring initiation before becoming a mem- ber. Money for the projects is earned through an annual student-faculty basketball game. The club officers are Mary E. McArthur, Pam Still, Mary G. Grubbs, Sally Roach, and Nancy Liles. I I
