THOSE SCOTS CLlCK ! Spirit, desire, and teamwork are the ingredients which have made this year's Fighting Scot basketball team one of the great teams in the history of Laurinburg. Posting their best conference record in six years, the Scots captured the admiration of every basketball team they faced. Not enough respect can be given to their coach, Mr. C.C. Buck Knotts, for he represented the true spirit of the team. Their only conference losses have been to last year's state champs, Sanford. Yes, the Fighting Scots have made for themselves a splendid record that will stand for many years to come. Charles Bounds is so fast that the camera is not able to catch him. IN THE J.V. BASKETBALL TEAM, COACH The junior varsity basketball team met the challenges of the opposing teams with vigor. Coach Yongue guides his team to many victories. The junior varsity basketball team under the able leadership of Coach Douglas Yongue had a good season. It is true that it was not an impress- ive season from the standpoint of the number of games won. However, the team showed excellent potential, determination to win, and good sports- manship, and the members of the squad should develop into some very fine material for next year 's varsity. 102
