1 PUBNIGHTS Every university has its popular Spot. At Laurentian it's the Voyageur Pub. The Pub is the place to go for a quick game of pool, a romantic tum around the dance floor, or to watch one's favorite sport on the oversized television screen. Many lasting friendships have begun in the Pub. I R val. .,f ' V Q! t 3 i - 0 Q After fourteen months of celebrating the university's first two decades of service to the Sudbury area Laurentian brought the events to a close with an afternoon of birthday celebration held on October 25. Both children and adults par- ticipated in the fun-filled day of events. One of the highlights was a forty foot bir- thday cake which Dr. Best, the President of Laurentian, sliced with the assistance of several students. Events such as a Modern Languages Department Quiz, shows in the Doran Planetarium, demonstrations of new library technology to show the universlty's microfiched catalogue and computerized data search ter- minal and tours of the Science and Engineering and computer centre all took place during the afternoon.
