THE 1973 LAURENS ELKS FOOTBALL SQUAD Hitherto, Laurens football has been an enjoyable pleasantry at which spectators witnessed the exemplified talents of the youth. This year, however, football at Laurens ascended into a category that even Wilbur Young would admire. The metamorphosis was a direct consequence of the debonair debutant Head Coach, Richard Hamilton. Filling out the Fear- some Foursome, which have also been attributed with the cognomen, Quixote Quartet qfor at times their innuendos con- ir veyed aberrations such as attacking windmillsj were Offensive line coach, Roger Baskervilleg Defensive coach, Doug Schu- lerg and Backfield coach, George James. The amalgamation of these minds, while under the ominous eye of the Irate Irishman from Emmetsburg, was the inspiration that instilled within the minds of the Elks, their implacable desire for con tact. That same impetus was applied in cultivating and nurturing a Team Philosophy that resulted in an incomparable season for which the Elks will not soon be forgotten.
