Through the four years that we were in LHS, we have come to realize that the patience, understanding, and consideration that was shown at all times by this individual was definitely appreciated by all of us. We were offered knowledge, wisdom, and leadership as the example set by this teacher. We, the Senior Class of 1966, will always remember with deep gratitude and appreciation the endless help that was ours to receive. Junior-Senior Prom The Junior Class of Laurens Community School requests the pleasure of your company at the Junior -Senior Prom on Friday, April Twenty-ninth, Nineteen Hundred Sixty -Six at the Avalon Ballroom Remsen, Iowa, at 8:00 in the evening. R. S. V. P. The Junior Class of Laurens At 6:45 promptly, 1966, the Junior-Senior Prom officially began. Buses were chartered and the class held their prom at the Avalon Ballroom in Remsen, Iowa. This prom was rather unique in that it was the first time a prom had ever been held outside the school. Danny and the Triumphs provided the music. Bob's Catering Service provided delicious fried chicken with the trimmings. A program was presented at intermission with Jerry Depew, the Junior class president, welcoming the Sen- iors and their guests to the prom. Gina Lind sang two numbers, Ebb Tide and Unchained Melody. Jerry Olson, the Senior class president, officially concluded the program with a thank you from the Seniors and their guests. At 2:00 A. M. , a weary but happy group arrived in Laurens. Thus officially ending an interesting and unique 1966 prom. Prom Lyle, what did you say was in this bott1e??? Yep, Farm, there's the food! Did I remember to ask him, or did11't I?
