The second game of the season found Laurens agaln on the home f1e1d testlng the sklll of the Maro thon Mmutemen tn a steady relentless ram. Yard by yard over the ram soaked sllppery fleld the Elks ground out a 14 7 w1n. The following week the Elks opened the conference season agamst Manson. Unable to move the ball on the ground or IH the a1r Manson SfyITl16d the El.k s slngle wmg attack and Laurens went down to de feat 24 7 The two succeedlng weeks found the Elks wlnmng ln lopslded fashlon f1rst over Pocahontas 39 to The followmg week the Elks moved to Lake Ctty where they lost a hard fought game 13 to 12 Ltttle dld the senlors know then or any one else for that matter that II was the last game of the season.
