Ginny Baker Where's the baker? Here, bellowed a loud voice coming from nowhere. May I help you? it continued. Yes, I'd like a dozen rolls. I'm very sorry, but I've just finished eating the last gross. Funny thing, I never seem to have enough for the customers. At this point Pip, who amounts to practi- u u cally nothing, came around the counter. Oh, Hoov, she swung her arm as if she were pushing a swinging door, it's you! At first I was afraid it was going to be my mother. I just got a new dress and she'l1 be getting the bill today. I figured if I got a job she wouldn't be quite so upset. At the rate you're going with those rolls, youlll have to exchange it for a larger size. Here are your glasses - the ones you use to locate your other glasses when they're lost. Thanks For that I'll let you choose when you'd like to give your Senior Speech. Say, would you like to hear my sales talk on English Muffins? I just changed a few words of my lunch announcement about Laurel Leaves Dance, you know . . . 'Well, I guess you're not interested in delicious, taste-tempting . . .' Nothing much, Mom. What's new with you?

Joan Balcer 1954 joan stood with one foot caught pre- cariously in the ski-tow. As she waited for someone to come along and help her out, she pondered over why dresses were getting shorter and what to do about it. She mapped out a mass revolt. Then she turned to reminiscing on the Hockey Play Day. Having gone over all the plays, she began to review chemistry equations. Miss Slade appeared in the distance. joan controlled her first impulse to scream for help and firmly decided not to bother her. The ski-tow began to move, and Joan slid along, wondering why it was so much more fun to skid in an automobile while one is driving. As she descended the slope, she gave a few Gilmore cheers in hopes that Sue would come running. She realized that upon reach- ing the foot of the hill, she would certainly be in a predicament unless someone came along. Mimi suddenly skied into her from be-a hind, knocking joan over. Meme! Joan yelled, falling on her head. Wait for me at the bottom of the hill. 'Suref Mimi yelled back. joan hardly heard the answer. She was bouncing along on her back, wondering why skiing was so much fun. Gee, I'm sorry. Are you all right?
