Contestants Sing Hooray for Hollywood What does a queen say when she finds out she's about to be crowned? Hot Dog were the words heard from Lisa Carter when she won the Laurel Park Beauty Pageant. Lisa described the pageant as very exciting and un- believable. The setting was a tour bus in busy Hollywood. All of the contestants sang and danced to Hooray for Hollywood. To go with the theme, Ticket to the Stars, each contestant wore an informal outfit and then a gown, telling her name and her favorite person in Hollywood. Practice took place for about a week from 5:30 to 7:30 with the supervision of Ms. Molnar and Ms. Lurz. Approx- imately 30 girls entered, their entree fee going to the Athletic Boosters. 46 Student Life Wearing the crown of Miss Laurel Pa is Lisa Carter. ll! N jf rms In the evening gown competition, P Mabe is escorted down the runway Travis Millner. Having been picked as finalists in beauty pageant are Kay Turner, Lisa O ter, Debbie Jones, Pam Mabe, Patrt Giles and Tracy Hankins. Hearing her name announced as one the finalists is Lisa Scoggins.
