The Big Blue was far from a perfect groupg when they played the intensity varied. Very seldom were they smooth and melodic and the vocals were never consis- tent, but sometimes they reached soaring high peaks - such as when the Big Blue whipped Bassett at the Homecoming game. Sometimes they fell to very low, quiet notes - when the Big Blue walked away from Dan Greene Stadium tied for first place in the district instead of in sole possession. Sometimes they swelled fully, if quietly in optomistic tones - when the NHS raised money for eighth grader Tim Johnston, a leukemia victim. Sixth period physical education class is over and Tommy Shupe, Charles Maxey, and John Lloyd wait for the final bell.
