The 1980 Koine brought home so many awards that the staff room echoed with it's going to be a hard act to follow. Well, somewhere this year the staff got off the path and stopped trying to follow that act. As long as we're throwing the cliches at you - we plowed with the oxen that we had. Taking pictures is difficult when your two best cameras have been stolen 1we did get them back thanks to Mr. Wayne Moore3 and it's hard work when most of the staff either doesn't have study hall or can't stay af- ter school. These are our excuses for the parts we're not too proud of. For the good parts we'll accept your compliments. The 1981 Koine was printed by the Delmar Company in Charlotte, N.C., on 80111 enamel. The type is Helvetica. The Delmar representatives were Mark Smith and Max Ward. The cover, theme and basic design were done by Chris Martin. Photography was by Melissa Simon, Rick Jamison, Jeff Gauldin, Mike l-leggen, Pat Donavant and Laura McFad- din. Our business affairs were handled by Zena Preston. Tracy Preston put all the names in order for the index. Glenda Martin and Mike Watkins volunteered to do the sports sections and joined the staff in February. Others who contributed were Mary l-lodge, Michelle Wilson, Rhonda McGuire, Andrea Carter, and Maranda Craighead. Mr. John Myers gave us his typewriter and his time for typing. Mrs. Bodkin gave her typing and calm perseverence. Mrs. Ginger Preston pulled it all together one last time and retired from the Koine staff after nine years.
