The Figsboro Bunch: Dwayne Young, Johnnie Carter, Stan Brodie, Dean Doyle, Derrick Doyle, and Robert Wells. xi sbt 1 ,t so c X, ,tc .- XX Lisa Robertson Mike Simpson William Stultz Dwayne Smart Harry Seay Robin Smith X . 1 sei li Terri Smith Dmitri Stockton April Stone Jacqulyn Stockton Belinda Stockton Kim Swain People want to live in Figsboro so bad that they will move the sign down the road so it can be said that they live there. At least that's the way Dean Doyle tells it. Dean is the unof- ficial leader of the 'Bunch' and a loyal lover of Southern Bock. He and the 'Bunch', whom all wear T-shirts stamped with the emblems of Charlie Daniels, Molly Hatchet, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, got their names when Dean's mom asked who all was go- ing out. He just started saying the Figsboro Bunch instead of listing all their names. Besides their T-shirts, the group can be recognized by their old jeans, boots, hats, their Con- federate Flag and if you happen to be in Dwayne Young's basement, by his liquor bottle collection 1300-400 bot- tlesi. Figsboro is a pocket of un- reconstructed Southerners, says Dean, Just good 'ol country boys. People who stick to their convictions but don't try to get on anyone else's nerves. Mostly in Figsboro, we hang out at the Figsboro General Store, swim at the lake and play Sunday cow pasture football. 131
