Steve Wingfield, a guard, was named as the defensive player of the week in the Roanoke Times, only to be out the next week with appen- dicitis This left Jim White, Eugene Moyer. Clay Gravely, and McKinley Stockton to lead the team. Only Jim White was in the beginning line-up.
