MYERLY It is with sincere appreciation and regard that we, the Class of 1963, dedicate this book to Miss lVlARGARET R. MYERLY. In addition to being a most capable teacher of mathematics, Miss Myerly has, for many years, served as sponsor of the RAMBLER, giv- ing unselftshly of her time and energy. Without her encouragement, patience, and cheerful personality, this book would not have been possible. As the Class of 1963 goes forth into the World, perhaps to fur- ther education, perhaps to a chosen vocation, or possibly to a home and family, we shall always remember Miss Myerly and regard her with the highest esteem. DORIS L. BOWIE JOSEPHINE BRIGHT Although the Dewey Decimal System brings to the stu- dents' minds Mrs. Bowie, the librarian, it is her personal touch with each of us which will reserve for her a prominent place in our hearts. Her help in choosing books and coach- ing dramatic accomplishments has been never-ending, but we will remember her longest for the appreciation of lit- erature she instills in each student and the warm way she regards each student as an individual. For these and count- less other things we express our appreciation to Mrs. Bowie. PPBECIATIO On entering Laurel High, the first person a student meets is Miss Boyd, guidance counselor, and it is to her that he turns throughout his high school career. Miss Boyd has advised countless students in the selection of an in-. stitution of higher learning, and she has guided us all through our years at Laurel High. A deep feeling of appreciation is felt for the unselfish service rendered by Miss Boyd. S. MALISSA BOYD During her years at Laurel High School, the name of Mrs. Bright has become almost syn- onymous with success in the clerical and com- mercial lields. Her former students may be found throughout the area, utilizing the skills they learned in her classes. For her faithful service and for her many contributions to the school and community, we, the students of Laurel High, will be forever grateful to Mrs. Bright. www '1 1.45621 'E A Q lf -. 3 :.-W.,-: - ,Az ., 1 ..',., f - .i --. The Student Council is one of the most im- portant organizations in our school. As written in its constitution, it has many essential respon- sibilities: to promote better understanding and cooperation between the student body and the faculty, to represent Laurel High School in all activities, and to provide for the exercising of democratic usagesf, Many activities throughout the school year are sponsored by the Student Council. Each year Homecoming activities, including the Homecom- ing game, a dance, and the crowning of a queen, provide a highlight and gala conclusion for the football season. A safety check, for the purpose of inspecting all safety equipment on automo- biles owned by the residents of our community, is another activity sponsored by the Student Council. Sims, Secretaryg R.
