' fo e Ke H en, ” SWEETHEART ANNETTE Escorted by Duane Behm The Senior Ball, which was held March 25, 1961, brought back memories of Laurel High School with the theme - ”Moments to Remember. Lavender and silver, the Senior Class colors, were used in carrying out the theme of the dance. Annette DeCarlo was crowned Sweetheart of the Class of 1961 by Bruce Frank, Senior Class President. Others who were selected for candidates for Sweetheart were Judy Adams, Pat Vernon, Gwen Badilla, Rosetta Deines, and Rita Wagner.

wtecwtttup 7960 Stewart, Rosetta Deines, Karen Scheeler, Pat Vernon, Rickie Frank, and Annette DeCarlo for the Homecoming Queen. Wayne Moorman and George Cole, with the dummy, led the Snake Dance through the downtown area ending with a huge bonfire and pep rally in Thompson Park. Friday morning the candidates were presented in an all-school assembly and George Cole crowned Sharon Stewart Queen. Pat Vernon was chosen Princess. The Laurel High School Band led the Homecoming Parade, followed by the pep club float with the Queen, Princess, and their attendants, riding on it. The four classes also had floats. The prize for the best float was awarded to the class of'63. The Laurel Locomotives played the Custer County Cowboys in an exciting game. The queen and her attendants were presented during the half time activities. Queen Sharon Stewart reigned over the dance held in the Laurel High School Gym following the game. 17
