The future shows great promise with many up and coming underclassmen. 58 CO-CAPTAINS Left - Don Nottingham and Dan Harper. SENIOR BOYS 59 Queen, her attendants and their escorts HOMECOMING Thursday, October 8, 1959, marked the beginning of the second homecoming in Laurel High School. Many new features were added to this annual tradition, one of the outstanding events of the year. The event was opened with a snake dance followed by a pep rally. During a special Friday morning assembly, Virginia Ulschak was crowned queen by the student body president and presented with a scepter and scroll by Don Nottingham and Dan Harper. In the late afternoon the first homecoming parade proceeded through town with Queen Ulschak and her attendants in convertibles between the four class floats and the pep club float to the football field. The Queen and her attendants were again presented before the game. Following the game, a dance was held in the Queen's honor. Those who helped in supplying pictures for the annual. The Taylor Publishing Company and Bill Kinney for advice and information on annual production. Our advertisers who try hard to please everyone in many ways. Try their products - it really pays. A very special thanks goes to the sports editor, Larry Marcus, who not only completed the sports pages, but also worked on the ads, both collecting ads and setting up ad pages. In addition to the above work, Larry found time to work on many other pages including the science fair. LARRY MARCUS We, the Laurels Staff, hope that the students of the Laurel High 100 School cherish the memories and recollections that this annual holds. % 30K S TAYLOR PUBLISHING COMPANY The World's Best Yearbooks Are Taylor-made
