SENIOR CLASS PROPHECIES BOB AICHELE is making the girls swoon over his exquisite trumpet playing on the Lawrence Welk Show. JIM ARMSTRONG, coming out of his operation room, remarks that they just don’t make people the way they used to. CAROL BOYLAN and JERRY HEISER have grown so fond of their high school parking space on cemetery hill that they purchased the property for their home. DONNA BRANSTETTER is a missionary in Africa converting the native heathens. HALLECK BRENDEN and JERRY RUSTAN have developed an autotransferic, ultra-sonic wave machine which makes anything at which it is aimed invisible. JOANN FOX is a professional ad collector collecting ads to pay the Laurel Leaves debts. MARION FOX, who uses her toes on the tough keys, has just set a new world record of 2,299 words a minute. WEE” LESLIE FRANK is the principal of LHS. He is promoting unexcused absences in remembrance of his high school days. NORMA FRANK is entertaining the armed services overseas with melodious voice and demonstrations with the hoola hoop. PRISCILLA FRANK is the first woman ambassador to Russia and has succeeded in persuading Khrushchev to give it all up. RUEBEN FRANK gives demonstrations on safe driving - squeaking tires on pavements, etc. ROGER FREEBERG is still looking for the perfect figure for his perfect marriage. LINDA FUKADO still squeals at the sight of mistletoe. BUD FUNK has become a supporter of the National Safe Driving Campaign; he shows what not to do. PATTY GARLOCK has been chosen Mrs. Farmhouse Wife of 1979 for her unique slogan, ’’It's a lo-o-o-ng, hard pull, but it's all in the bag. ’’ DORIS GASTON is a cosmetic consultant for men only! ORVILLE GETZ is a designer in women's apparel. He specializes in corsets for all shapes. KAREN GROSHELLE has become the first woman to win the MISS AMERICA title sixteen times in a row. Her husband is the head judge. GLORIA HANSON has returned from the Island of the Lilliputians where she found her ideal mate. TOM HARD is the new chief of the Highway Patrol and is running hot on the new Laurel turnpike. BILL CLICK, CLICK HARLAN has invented a new kind of glasses which enable a person to look through any material; however, the Federal Privacy Comfnision is restricting any commercial use of his invention. DIANA HERMAN has invented a new solution for stronger and longer eyelashes for better Butterfly Kisses. JANICE JORDAN and her 15 kids are searching in the hills of Laurel for Rocks. SHARON KAMP is constructing the second bridge on the River Kwai. TOM KASS, president of the new carhop union, is trying to establish a dollar an hour wage and shorter hours for Patty. STANLEY KAUTZ has started up another storm with GAYLE. DAVID KELLY is now running a hotel for white mice. BRADLEY KRAUSE is a kissing counselor for the younger sexes. (Any other kind???) 22

DARRELL DEAN MAGNUS (Not Pictured) Football 1,2, 3,4; L Club 4; T l 3,4 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Under the direction of Mr. Pate, 109 freshmen were enrolled in 1956. As a class project they gave the sock hop in honor of the Basketball A Squad. Jim Armstrong and Karen Groshelle were elected their Laurel Leaves King and Queen, and Sandie Stoltz and Stanley Kautz were their candidates for the Sadie Hawkins Dance and were chosen the Daisy Mae and Li'l Abner at the dance. Starting their second year of school, the sophomore class sponsors were Mrs. Green-leaf, and Mr. Neeley. Electing officers for the second time in high school they elected: Guy Lamb, president; Dennis Feuerbaucher, vice president; Stanley Kautz, treasurer; Sandie Stoltz, secretary; and Karen Groshelle and Marcia Dobson, S. A. C. representatives. The class had a caramel apple sale and held an April Fools Dance March 29. They worked hard. The junior year with Mr. Neely, Miss Pat Morgan, and Mrs. Greenleaf, the class sold concessions at the football and basketball games. Other money-making projects they had were a Topsy-Turvey dance on October 19, a bake sale, a candy sale, and selling purple and gold pom-poms at the ballgames. The money earned from these various projects went toward the Prom and Banquet which was held May 3. Their class play, Crewcuts and Longhairs, was held January 28 and 29 under the direction of Mrs. Nell Gamble with Mrs. Caroline Phillips and Mrs. Erma Badt as assistants. Daisy Mae and LiT Abner were Margo Murphy and Jim Armstrong. Sandie Stoltz and Tom Kass were the junior class candidates for King and Queen at the Laurel Leaves dance. Class officers for the year were Betty Leuthold, president; Roger Freeberg, vice president; Lillian Leland, secretary; Janice Jordan, treasurer; Bob Middleton, parliamentarian; and Karen Groshelle and Dennis Feuerbaucher, S. A. C. representatives. The officers for our last year of high school were: president, Dennis Feuerbacher; vice president, Crville Getz; secretary, Bill Harlan; treasurer. Barbara Shipp; and S. A. C. representatives. Roger Freeberg and Karen Groshelle. Our sponsors were Mrs. Greenleaf and Mrs. Backman. They worked along with us in our Senior Ball and Class Night and we would have missed their ideas and suggestions had they not helped us. Laurel Leaves candidates for King and Queen were Deanna Mayes and Dennis Feuerbacher. Daisy Mae and LiT Abner were Diana Herman and Bradley Krause. The Senior Play, under the able direction of Mrs. Gamble, was entitled THE NIGHT OF JANUARY 16th. Eighty-eight seniors received their diplomas on the night of May 26. For some this was a time of happiness, for others a time of sadness, but for all it meant the end of four very happy years.

LEONARD LAFLESCH, a famous hunting guide, gave up the business when he found out that Bridget Bardot is a city girl at heart. GUY LAMB is a foremost expert on the training of beagle hound dogs for people who want dogs just a little bit better. ROYCIE LAMB is on the most remarkable case of all; she is the only person of the class of 59 that is living a normal life. LILLIAN LELAND is running close competition to the Kay Gee Club” with her new resort Lillie’s Loolu. BETTY LEUTHOLD and DENNIS MAXSON (now both 65) are still going steady. They thank Miss Berland for her wager. JANET MAART, after graduating from college, is now a steady baby-sitter for the governor of Montana. In her spare time she is a farmer’s wife southwest of Laurel. GEORGIA MADILL has started a new fad in skiing. She no longer uses skis, but instead her - shoes. DARRELL MAGNUS is now modeling hair styles for Elvis, designed by LaVonne Segmiller. ANN MARKEGARD, English teacher from Laurel High School, says, You can whip the kids, but you can't beat the job. DEANNA MAYES has designed a seamless, beltless, strapless, shapeless, armless garment that can be worn as a dress or used as a tablecloth. DARLENE METZGER and RON REID enjoy basketball so much that now Darlene and he are raising their own basketball team. Their skill is inherited from their father, a former Trainman. ANITA MEYERS is now living in Great Falls. She has selected this city from all others in Montana. RON MICHAEL is driving taxis, exclusively for girls. BOB MIDDLETON is traveling coast-to-coast as a door-to-door salesman for Coast-to-Coast. JUDY MILLER is now raising little Marshmallows in the Red Lodge Mountains. MARGO MURPHY’S great novel. THE SEX LIFE OF A CATERPILLAR, is a best seller, next to PEYTON PLACE. JAMES O’ROURKE is engaged to be married to Marlyss with mother’s approval. PAT ORR is starring in her new release, I Was a Wonderful, Terrific Teenager of LHS. DAWN PAGE, due to the fact that her husband is still low on gumption, has been made full-time janitor of the Faulkner Building. SHERRY PORTER has broken the world's record for having the most husbands at one time. Be sure to read her popular book. A HUSBAND IN EVERY PORT. CAROLE RUFF is the Lady Bareback Rider Champion of the world. BOB RYDER, at the age of 38, is still chasing the girls. JOANNE SANDMAN is the first lady of the Bean Ford Companies, Inc. GEORGE SCHEELER has broken the world record for traveling faster than the speed of light in his little hot rod. ARNIE SCHEELER, a collector of animal trophies, thus far has 27 deer heads, 3 elk heads, and 1 moose head, besides a deer tail from one that almost got away. TONY SCHNEIDER is now a citizen of Mars. The little space girls make him feel secure with their four arms and three lips. TEDDY SCHWARTZKOPF has become the master of ceremonies on Championship Bowling. LAVONNE SEGMILLER is now a famous beauty operator for having originated the new Elvis cut for Army wear. BARBARA SHIPP is teaching her little twin girls how to rate for Girls’ State. PAUL STEBBINS is noted for chasing around in his little red Corvette. DARLENE STEWART is the founder of the National Sparklers Club. She is now crusading in Washington, D. C. ROBERT STOLTZ is a manufacturer of kingsize beds. SANDIE STOLTZ is a model for the House of Charles. She models the hair you wish you had. BOB STRAND is now a professional hermit trying to obtain courage to visit the DEAR. MELVIN STRAUCH, after four years of college, is digging ditches. DANE VANNICE is often seen with Peggy, zipping around in his jet propelled floor shift model of a 1987 Zuit. BETTY VERNON, at the age of 72, is still pestering away for that certain class ring. TED WADDELL is the school inspector for District No. 7. He makes a careful routine check of the senior lockers. RONALD WALTON has put Charles Atlas out of business with his slogan, We build a he-man in ten days. NEDRA WEBER, a French teacher at LHS, begins each class with a series of Swedish gymnastics. LAURETTA WILHELM is now a famous fortune teller. She claims that her success is due to the practice she had while working on the annual staff. DEAN WOLLAN is the head of a new doughnut factory. He stuffs the doughnuts with holes from macaronies. 23
