DARRELL DEAN MAGNUS (Not Pictured) Football 1,2, 3,4; L Club 4; T l 3,4 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Under the direction of Mr. Pate, 109 freshmen were enrolled in 1956. As a class project they gave the sock hop in honor of the Basketball A Squad. Jim Armstrong and Karen Groshelle were elected their Laurel Leaves King and Queen, and Sandie Stoltz and Stanley Kautz were their candidates for the Sadie Hawkins Dance and were chosen the Daisy Mae and Li'l Abner at the dance. Starting their second year of school, the sophomore class sponsors were Mrs. Green-leaf, and Mr. Neeley. Electing officers for the second time in high school they elected: Guy Lamb, president; Dennis Feuerbaucher, vice president; Stanley Kautz, treasurer; Sandie Stoltz, secretary; and Karen Groshelle and Marcia Dobson, S. A. C. representatives. The class had a caramel apple sale and held an April Fools Dance March 29. They worked hard. The junior year with Mr. Neely, Miss Pat Morgan, and Mrs. Greenleaf, the class sold concessions at the football and basketball games. Other money-making projects they had were a Topsy-Turvey dance on October 19, a bake sale, a candy sale, and selling purple and gold pom-poms at the ballgames. The money earned from these various projects went toward the Prom and Banquet which was held May 3. Their class play, Crewcuts and Longhairs, was held January 28 and 29 under the direction of Mrs. Nell Gamble with Mrs. Caroline Phillips and Mrs. Erma Badt as assistants. Daisy Mae and LiT Abner were Margo Murphy and Jim Armstrong. Sandie Stoltz and Tom Kass were the junior class candidates for King and Queen at the Laurel Leaves dance. Class officers for the year were Betty Leuthold, president; Roger Freeberg, vice president; Lillian Leland, secretary; Janice Jordan, treasurer; Bob Middleton, parliamentarian; and Karen Groshelle and Dennis Feuerbaucher, S. A. C. representatives. The officers for our last year of high school were: president, Dennis Feuerbacher; vice president, Crville Getz; secretary, Bill Harlan; treasurer. Barbara Shipp; and S. A. C. representatives. Roger Freeberg and Karen Groshelle. Our sponsors were Mrs. Greenleaf and Mrs. Backman. They worked along with us in our Senior Ball and Class Night and we would have missed their ideas and suggestions had they not helped us. Laurel Leaves candidates for King and Queen were Deanna Mayes and Dennis Feuerbacher. Daisy Mae and LiT Abner were Diana Herman and Bradley Krause. The Senior Play, under the able direction of Mrs. Gamble, was entitled THE NIGHT OF JANUARY 16th. Eighty-eight seniors received their diplomas on the night of May 26. For some this was a time of happiness, for others a time of sadness, but for all it meant the end of four very happy years.
