They sponsored after-school sales and also had a bake sale. The money earned at these sales went toward the Prom and Banquet, which was held April 30, the theme of which was Along the Nile. As Freshmen, they sponsored the first Sadie Hawkins' Dance and have continued with it every year. Their class play, We Shook the Family Tree, was held December 7 and 8 with Miss Charlotte Severance as director. The Girls' State candidates were Mary Anne Vaughn, Mary Ellen Albertus, Anne Gray, Joyce Bernhardt, Carol Klein, Sharon Michael, Shirley Brano, and Bernadine Getz. Sharon Michael and Mary Ellen Albertus were the chosen representatives to go to Billings. The three boys chosen to attend Boys' State were Maynard Kasner, Lee Davis, and Wally Nelson. Class officers for this year were Mary Ellen Albertus, president; Maynard Kasner, vice-president; Annabelle Zagar, secretary; Mary Anne Vaughn, treasurer; and Phyllis Jordan and Marilee McLarnon, SAC representatives.
