MARSHALL COUNTY TOURNAMENT MELBOURNE--Being unaccustomed to such a large floor and being unable to find the hoop, we were defeated by a scrappy Melbourne sextet. The half time score was 12-ll, losing Mann early in the first half. Johnston and Ryner each collected 7. Final score was 18 to 23. Laurel vs Green Mountain. Traveling to Green Mountain to be defeated by a scrappy sextet. The half tirne score was 15-13. Final score was 42-Z0. Johnston was high with 8 points. Brown and Bartlett saw much action. Laurel E I..aMoille Back on our home court we defeated LaMo1lle S3 to 3l Scoring honors were evenly divided with Runner and Johnston scoring 19 and 18 respectively Ryner collected 15 SECTIONAL TOURNALAENT AT GILMAN NEWBURG In the first round of the Sectional we defeated Newburg Half tune score was 2.7 to 16 Final score was 58 to 38 scoring honors went to Ryner and Runner collecting Z5 and ZZ respectively BAXTER In the second round we came up against the strong Jasper County Champions They defeated us only after a hard fought gaxne Half time score was 15 16 final score was 36 to 44 After defeating us they went on to take the Sectional Championship Ryner was high with Zl DUNBAR We returned to play Dunbar in the Consolation game With a close half time score Z0 to 14 we defeated Dunbar 43 to 36 Scoring honors were evenly divided between Runner Johnston and Ryner scoring 19 16 and 8 re spectlvely to win the Consolation Sectional Trophy Laurel vs Albion We ended the season by trouncing Albion all the reserves saw action Bartlett scored 34 points showing much promise as she still has Z years to play Final score was 49 32 3+ Ns.
