Their enrollment remamed the same ln the eighth as they lost joy Martin and john Roberts and gained Floyd Campbell and Emory Wunn The courageous little troop was guided through junior high by Miss jansonious Miss Ratllff Miss Dethmers Mrs Henry and Mrs Irma Paul The nxnth grade found them elevated to the sacred portals of the fresh man assembly the ultimate for whrch they had ardently yearned for years Through the1r many capers they caused many a teacher s head to ache Burley Roberts failed to Jom them and Delores johnson was the only new member of the class After washxng the steps wlth tooth brushes and pushing omons across the gyrn floor they became full fledged members of the Hlgh School They were very glad to be consrdered members of the tnstltutzon but concealed thls fact from their upper classmen In their tenth year Maxme Groff and Kathleen Johnston jomed them Wayne Bartlett and Darlene Klass dropped from the roll The helghth of their activities in their Junior year was the junior Senior Banquet which they sponsored for the seniors at Younkers Tea Room in Des Momes April 19 Emory Wunn Darrell De Witt Manne Groff left the class Gene Smith jomed them for a short time and then moved to Des Momes On September l 1947 the class of 48 came back to school acutely Q ware that they were the seniors, a group not to be tampered with by the rest the fellow clas smen The only new member was Eunice Routh S M..
