GRENON Headmaster HEADMASTER ' S MESSAGE To succeed as a man, you must have a brain, a heart and a sense of humour — the brain to do the minding, the heart to do the feehng, and humour as the hyphen permit- ting the functioning of both. You must know facts profoundly and in depth but have the depth of understanding which comes from the sensibiHties, and yet cast both in an ambivalent subjective-objectivity which enables you humouristically to see yourself as others see you, and empathically to see yourself in others. Then you no longer cavil, you no longer are the cynic, but become the enthusiast and optimistically strive to the utmost and learn to the utmost. You are a man.

It is with great pride that we, the class of 1964, dedicate this edition of the Crest to Mr. George M. Costello, an excellent master, an understanding guidance counselor, and a devoted friend. Mr. Costello, your unremitting efforts to help us realize our potential as students and as men will be long remembered.
