National Honor Society MISS MILDRED BROWN, SPONSOR Since the Boonville Chapter of the National Honor Society was organized in 1939, many services to the school and community have been performed by its mem- bers . Membership in the Society is limited to the upper 15 per cent of the senior class and the upper 5 per cent of the second semester juniors . Members are chosen on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Senior members this year include Keith Shipp, president, Nancy Long, vice-presidentg Phyllis Moehle, secretary, Peggy Vernon, Lois Sanders, Sandra Bailey, Keith Blankenbaker, Robert Sallman, Doug Thomas, and Gary Zeller. Iuniors elected in February include Ioyce Callison, Margo Maxwell, Sue Morris, Marie Topel, and Buddy Pulliam.

Homecoming Festivities To the delight of the fans the Boonville Pirates defeated the Kemper Yellowjackets by a score of 21-412 in the Homecoming Game, Friday, October 18. During the half the Queen, Princesses, and Attendants were presented. In the weeks pre- ceding the game the football squad choose 8 can- didates for Queen. The candidates were voted on by the members of the student body and in- terested town folk .
