LATIN vs. NORTH SHORE COUNTRY DAY The first real game of the schedule was with North Shore Country Day School at their field. The Latin team was green and therefore did not play a good game. North Shore scored a touchdown in the second quarter, and it looked as if Latin were going to be defeated. However, in the last quarter Hodgson threw a pass to Nellis. who made a beautiful catch. but was tackled almost immediately afterward. The team began to wake up. On the next play a pass was called for, and Hodgson threw one fifty-seven yards to Hogue, who caught it and stepped over the line. The kick for the extra point went wide, and a few minutes later the game ended. The score was Latin 6, North Shore 6. LATIN vs. PULLMAN The second game of the season was with Pullman Tech. lt was played in Lincoln Park and was a hard fought battle. Latin had the ball in her Opponents' territory most of the time, but lacked the punch to put it over the line. At last, after considerable line plunging, the ball was down on Pullman's five-yard line. But alas, too late. The whistle blew for the half. The second half was a repetition of the first except that in the last fewiminutes of the last quarter, Fortune snatched a Pullman pass out of the air, and shaking off two tacklers, ran eighty yards for a touchdown. The kick again failed to go over. The final score was 6 to 0 in favor of Latin.
