Having entered Latin fin third gradel in the olden days of 1918, We may consider Bill an old timer. Bill may be described as a modest, hard-workinff and enthusiastic fel- bl Y low, the harding-working and enthusiastic per- taining to the Il18.llI16l' in which he participates in athletics, studies, and other school activities. He has been victor in two consecutive tennis tourna- ments, aIId should he win this year, as we all think he will, he will be possessor of the Cudahy Trophy. Of course he is the school champion and captain of the tennis team, besides being on the tennis committee. Bill has participated regu- larly for four years in baseball and in basketball, in which he was captain of the lightweight team. 2 Qther information as to Bill's activities may be acquired in the list at the top of this page. So far Bill's school life has been dealt with, but one may be assured that outside of school he is the Z same sort of boy. participating in everything, and, L in general, a regular fellow. Next year, Bill hopes to go to Princeton, and the best wishes of Q all of us go with him. pg Vi ii rf. 51 ,U 5 Page' 26 ,Alf I H

Joseph Halla, slr., otherwise known as Bib, was born on July S, 1909. Joe entered Latin in sixth grade, and has remained a steady customer at our institution. His fame lies in the masterly way in which he plays the banjo, and in his ability to imitate a foreigner attempting to speak the English lan- guage. For the last two or three years, students of the Latin School have been wondering who owns the disgusted voice which says, I wish to heck I could get out of this dumpfy Upon care- ful investigation we have found this voice to be none other than Halla's. Joe's friendly disposition has won him many friends and a high social position in the class. To enumerate all of his good qualities would take up too much space so this cannot go on. Oh, yes, Joe so far has made no decision as to which college he will attend. Pagr 28 rw. if f f -QL.. Jos12PH HALLA, JR. Basketball, '24, 225. '26, Orchestra leader, '27, Prom Committee. QS.
