. , a,. 7744 The year is 1975. The place is the moon. The rocketship, Latah, has come in for a landing. The pilot, Franklin Leitz, who is exhausted from a 390, 000 mile flight taking 90 hours, steps out and sraggers to the Massage Parlor where Nurse Betty Berg is working. She is especially well trained in limbering the body that has become stiff from long intervals of muscular inactivity. One of the passengers, who descends from the ship is attired in the latest fashion, for Joel Martensen is always carefully dressed. Joel claims to have struck oil on the moon, and is returning from a business trip to the earth. He boards a space taxi for the Moonbeam Hotel which is owned by Wayne Clark. His hotel is famous for the scenic murals, that he had specially painted, reproducing the majestic mountains that tower above the busy city of Latah, Washington fearthj. While dining in the hotel restaurant, he is served by a cute waitress, Verda Mooncrater Qformerly Verda Ravensj. The position is only temporary for Miss Mooncrater. As soon as she can earn enough capital she plans on organizing a Cheerleaders Training School for the College of the Moon. For an evening of entertainment, Joel decided to go to the Sad Sack Theater to see a Moon Beam Picture entitled The Earth Men, starring Raymond Stiffneck fformerly Bill Mossy. Mr. Stiffneck began his theatrical career on earth, but due to the invention of hytomic television which travels directly to the moon, he was seen and liked by many of the moon people, so they insisted that he come to their planet to star in a series of pictures they were going to produce. After the show, Joel returned to his hotel in a Bobo Taxi, named for Bob Ottosen, owner and manager of the company. Bob owes his business success to Boom Miller fformer school principal on the earthy now president of the Boom Miller Moon Investment Corporation. There is but one college on the moon, a college for women who wish to study earth creatures. The president of this college is none other than Dona Snow Qformerly Dona Koehnej. President Snow believes that the different customs, habits, and characteristics of the two planets must be understood by each other if they are to live and work together harmoniously. The one professor, a very brilliant man, claims that he learned everything he knows at Latah Hi--this is hard to believe. The professor is Karl Ostheller, chairman of the Brain Study Department, which specializes in the brain actions of the ants- on earth. The college also boasts of another former Latah student who now teaches the moon people how earth people use automatic washers and dryers. He had a little training in this work at latah High School. He is l-larold Fricke. During his spare time Harold is working on a very important invention The Jupitor Express which if successful, will make him the first to explore the planet, Jupitor. and the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts. s
